It is here, on this well-kept secret of a working farm, where Joss, Paula, and their long-serving team, are waiting to introduce you to the subtle indulgences of country life.
With a menu inspired by their fields and other nearby farms, Paula transforms seasonally available ingredients to create unforgettable dishes, certainly a haven for food lovers!
The perfect setting for a romantic getaway, family celebration, function, or conferences. Private thatched farm bungalows providing the perfect source from which to explore the beauty of the breath-taking Drakensberg peaks and their myriad attractions.
“Our authentic contemporary classic meals are both a passion for food and homage to the organic produce grown on the farm. The distinct flavours which enhance and educate the palate can be attributed to the freshness of the ingredients..”
Our menu celebrates fresh farm produce, creating contemporary classic dishes. From mouth-watering dry aged steaks, sumptuous curries, thin-crust wood-fired pizzas, to complex flavour combinations brought together in exotic dishes, all traditionally prepared.
The deli offers an assortment of farm fresh artisanal delicacies from breads, pickles, jams and biltong, to oils and vinegars, cheese, meats, and coffee. With Paula’s selection of imported Italian ingredients and home-grown Bingelela faire, taking home a piece of this slow-living has never been more desired.
Wood-fired Pizza Oven
The wood-fired oven at Bingelela is well known for its famous, thin-crust pizzas and culinary creativity. The brainchild of such culinary creativity includes an array of artisanal breads and pastries, smokey-flavoured garlic snails, and bacon-wrapped mussels.
Keeping with tradition, breakfasts at Bingelela are made with the same fervour as all their meals. Hearty farm breakfasts, French toast. Omelettes, and home-made ciabatta, alongside the pleasant aroma of the perfect cup of coffee.
The Bingelela pub offers an excellent range of craft beer, gins, spirits, cocktails, and wines to complement the flavours of your meal to further enhance your dining experience. The perfect setting to unwind after a long day of exploring the Drakensburg.
Private thatched bungalows tucked away in between the trees. The perfect peaceful setting for a memorable mountain retreat for romantic getaways, weekends away, and a home away from home for guests attending functions or conferences.
Arrive in style on the Bingelela air strip. The regularly-maintained grass air strip makes Bingelela the perfect stopping point for a weekend jaunt or a morning’s flip over the mountains, followed by a delicious meal. (Coordinates: 28°42’39.9” S, 29°19’51.3”E)
