Bingelela customer reviews
This is what our Customers have to say:
A relaxing homely stay with excellent facilities and very friendly staff.
I loved the comfort and privacy of the cottage (especially the extra comfy bed), in combination with the communal feel of the restaurant/pool area. Delicious breakfast! Staff very helpful with tips on what to do in the area.
WiFi only in common areas (but that’s not necessarily bad when you are on holidays) 🙂

Was very pleasant overnight stay.
Amarula cheese cake to die for. Farm like atmosphere. The Pizza was excellent and the breakfast as well. Staff friendly and helpful.
The staff were so friendly and our chalet was very comfortable.
The food served in the restaurant was outstanding.
Very well positioned and enjoyable! As Kiwis we really enjoyed excellent South African hospitaility.
Pool, Restaurant, Staff and Dogs.
Great place to stay, perfect location.
We had to leave early and they made up a take away breakfast which was so kind.
The staff were amazing!
The complimentary roosterkoek at breakfast were scrumptious. Lovely setting.
Nothing was too much trouble.
I seldom take the time to write a review but was compelled to do so owing to the excellent service I received. Heidi went out of her way to make my stay perfect. I needed an early breakfast – done. I needed a room to shower in after a run and after checkout – no problem. I needed some food and coffee to take away for the drive home – done. Thank you for a lovely stay. I will return.
Loved having the dogs around.
The accomodation was beautiful, staff, bar area and pool outstanding.
In today’s day and age not many places offer EXCEPTIONAL service and food.
This was our second trip to stay at Bingelela and we couldn’t wait to return as our first trip was so amazing.
From the moment we arrived to the minute we checked out we were treated so well. Its the little things that count and the staff really do have their finger on the pulse of what their clients need. The place is a haven away from the hustle and bustle. Even though we don’t have kids we enjoyed the fact that it seemed a very child friendly place. We saw staff helping with children so that their parents could enjoy their meal, we also saw staff bringing out a camp cot in case kids would want to nap. The food is absolutely delicious we were happy with every meal, tops some of the best restaurants (we eat out quite a bit and at some fab places) my steak on the first night was so well cooked and so delish that I had steak again the second night. My last visit I had the thai prawn and chicken curry it was equally great. I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment for their excellent service, attention to detail, putting their customers first, the relaxing setting as well as the delicious food.
I stay here once a month.
My home away from home! try the Rossini rump, absolutely awesome!!! The staff are always friendly, and the accommodation is perfect. Everyone is always friendly, I love that it is a working farm. ;), don’t expect to be entertained, come to relax and have good company and good food and you’ll leave happy.
We had a great time and super services from all the Bingelela staff.
We had a fantastic time and stayed two days longer. I will return not only for a good rest but also for excellent cuisine.
LOVE Bingelela !!!
Went there for a weekend and had the best food of my life!!! The newly renovated cottages are excellent and we cant wait to go back. The owners are friendly and the staff are always there to help you.
The place to be with the best FOOD in South Africa
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food at the restaurant was excellent.
Loved having everything we needed on the premises, didn’t have to venture out in the night to find a place to eat – and we even had family from Ladysmith pop in and visit us at the lodge for drinks and some cake. The owner, Joss, greeted us with a smile and friendly welcome each morning at breakfast 🙂
Great location, not too far to Royal Natal and Didima / Cathedral Peak for some excellent hiking.Enjoyed playing with all the dogs, all super sweet and friendly.
One of the best and most relaxing places to stay at.
The Restaurant has no equal. Every dish is made with care and only the freshest ingredients mostly out of there own gardens. Joss and Paula make you feel welcome from the start.
Accommodation of choice for me when driving in the berg.
Convenient accommodation with a personal touch.
Pizzas are the best.
Open air bar.
Comfortable rooms….spacious and cosy.
Berg views are wonderful.
Great value you receive.
Thank you so much – we’ll definitely be back!
We recently enjoyed a weekend at Bingelela with a group of martial arts instructors, to get together, share ideas and train.
The accommodation in the bungalows was clean and comfortable and more than adequate for our needs.
We had a fantastic time, but what really stood out for me was the food at Bingelela Restaurant, and the phenomenal service. Meat lovers – sit up and pay attention. The Rossini Sirloin, topped with chicken livers in a creamy peri peri sauce is worth the three and a half hour drive from Johannesburg, alone.
The staff were all amazing – nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to accommodate our requests. From our initial email enquiry right up to when we checked out, every request was met with a cheerful smile.
Visited Bingelela for the weekend. What an amazing break.
Friendly staff and Management. Wonderful atmosphere and the well behaved friendly dogs roaming around made it feel like home. Was a delight to be walked to our rooms in the evening and waking up to find them waiting for us. The food was amazing. Generous portions and reasonably priced. Wide menu range and pizzas topping amazing.. not to mention the amazing cocktails. Definitely worth another visit.
Bingelela is one of my favorite places to visit.
A nice place to stop on your way to Lube and Tube. Bingelela has the best pizza in the whole of KwaZulu-Natal. Nice bar and craft beer. Unfortunately the barman was not very friendly.
